Jan Depner - Rhythm/Lead Guitar, Harp, Slide, Synth,
Lead/Backup
Vocals
Jan at Gibson Guitar Cafe in
Nashville
I
hate writing in the
third person, it sounds so NFL, so this bio will be in the first
person. I started playing harmonica at the age of seven.
That was back when a Hohner Marine Band cost about a quarter and you
had to watch out for the dinosaurs. I picked up the flute at age
seventeen and then, finally, started playing guitar at the advanced age
of
twenty. Since I've been working for the same organization for the
last 30 years I never had the chance to tour (unlike my partners in
crime) but I have traveled quite a bit. In my extensive travels I
have had the chance to sit in with quite a few groups in some
interesting places. I've played harp and sung harmony with Haddaway at the Sass
Cafe in Monaco, played at Club
Dr. Jazz in
Pisa Italy, played with Raison De Plus at Maybe Blues
in Marseilles France, and sat in at Cafe Dali in Panama City, Panama
among others. I've been in a few local bands here, most notably, I-59, Biscuit and the Blues Bakers,
and The Fuzzy Dice. On a less
frequent basis I've also played
with the New River Band and Jimmy
Stowe and the Stowaways in Ft Lauderdale Fl
(check out Rag Top Day
on his site - that's me playing harp), and Kim Carson and the Casualties
next door in New Orleans. I've had the pleasure of jamming with
most of the original Hee-Haw band and also Albert Lee up in
Nashville. I've also written and recorded a few tunes on my own.
Henry Harrington - Lead/Rhythm Guitar, Lead/Backup vocals
Henry at the old I59 practice disaster area
This Texan really has an axe to grind. His razor sharp riffs
slice the air in true Texas style. He demonstrates versatility in
style as a guitarist and vocalist. His finely honed skills are
attributable to his four plus decades performing with various artists
and bands on the local, national, and international levels. Henry
possesses a talent laden resume, too encompassing to list in its
entirety. He has performed with the best and biggest in the music
world. Some of the bands he has performed with are The Flamingos,
Bobbie Cupit, Russ Russell & The Rustlers, The Nickel Beer Bandits,
The Thunder Creek Band, Rockabilly Hall of Fame inductee Jim Oertling
and, most notably, an eight year stint with the incomparable Mickey Gilley. In fact, Henry can be
seen for a split second on stage
with Mickey Gilley in the film Urban Cowboy.
Jerry O'Rourke - Bass Guitar, Lead/Backup Vocals
Jerry on Bourbon
Jerry
O'Rourke (from Nawlins eight wahd dawlin) has been playing
bass since before Freddy had a Fender. He has toured the country
with Heavy America, The Machine, and St Joe Brickwork. He has
toured both nationally and internationally with the late, great Freddy Fender.
His playing is only upstaged by his vocals. Together with our
drummer Alan they provide the heartbeat of Charlie Foxtrot.
Alan Auter - Drums, Percussion, Random Strange Announcements
Alan before electricity
Alan Auter has
played
venues ranging from Nashville’s country to Virginia Beach’s rock
to New Orleans funk. He can count to thirty-two, and play right or
left-handed. He also has a grown son that plays percussion like
nobody’s business.
He has performed locally
and nationally for over thirty-five years. Alan has played with a
number of bands including The Edge City
Band, Biscuit and the Blues Bakers, I-59, Jimmy Jules and many others.
