First, some background - The Charlie Foxtrot Band's original logo, a cartoon fox with a top hat, was designed by our third drummer, David Nuessly, in late 2006 or early 2007 if I recall correctly.  It was put together from clip art that was included in Print Shop Pro.  Later in 2007 or early in 2008 (I can't remember which) Dave decided to quit the band over a real or imagined slight from our bass player.  I wasn't there so I have no idea which it was nor am I interested in finding out.  Apparently, in July of 2008, Dave copyrighted the logo.  Fast forward to March 29th, 2010 on which date I received a certified letter from Dave telling our band to cease and desist using the logo on threat of a lawsuit.  Part of this little note is to make a public record of the fact that we have, as of March 29th, 2010, removed the logo from our web site and will refrain from using it in any future material of any kind.  Thus, we are in full and complete compliance with his demand.  I have also, this day, March 30th, 2010, sent a certified letter to Dave, as he demanded in his letter, telling him that we are in compliance.  In addition to the letter, I called Dave on March 29th, 2010 and told him that we were in compliance and I also emailed him today, March 30th, 2010, with a link to this page so that he would know we have fully complied with his demand.

The second part of this note is to say that we have already designed a new logo and are having an artist work it up for us.  To tell the truth I was never all that fond of the little fox logo since The Charlie Foxtrot Band has nothing to do with foxes (except the female kind if we're lucky), or anyone named Charlie or the foxtrot for that matter.  I wanted to design a new logo but I was always too lazy or too busy (I do have a regular job) to design a new one.  So, in retrospect, I guess you could say that Dave has inadvertently done us a favor by making me get off my lazy butt and work on a new logo ;-)  For the time being we have put up the camouflage CF as a temporary logo until our new one is finished.  Cheers.
